The ban on whitefish fishing ends on February 1, and until then the Police will continue to fight against those who violate this ban.
The fight is being waged not only in the water and coastal areas, but also on the highways along which the illegal catch is transported for sale.
It is the effectiveness of the struggle that has forced some offenders to resort to so-called tricks, which, for the most part, does not escape the eyes of the Police officers.
Among the revelations recorded in recent days, there are also such cases. Such was the first case presented.
On January 22, around 10:30 am, the water patrols of the Gegharkunik Marz Battalion of the Patrol Service stopped the "VAZ-21213" car driven by a resident of Noratus village on the 58th km of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan road, under the hood of which 74 whitefish were found. The total weight of the fish was about 40 kilograms. The man and the car from Noratus were taken to the Sevan Community Police Department.
On the night of January 28, the water patrols discovered another case of disguised transportation of illegally caught fish. Around 3 o'clock, on the 11th km of the Tsovagyugh-Shorzha-Vardenis road, they stopped a "GAZ" tow truck that was transporting an "Opel" car. During the inspection, 230 kilograms of sig were found in the "Opel" salon. The 42-year-old passenger, a resident of Tsovagyuh, reported that he bought the fish near Mets Masrik.
About an hour and a half after this incident, water patrols noticed Hyundai and Opel cars parked on the 70th km of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan road, in the opposite lane. Before the patrols could return and approach, the cars left, leaving boxes full of whitefish. The total weight of the fish was 120 kilograms.
During this time, illegally caught whitefish was also found in the cities of the republic.
On the night of January 25, in the city of Hrazdan, in the area of the Old Market, Kotayk patrolmen stopped an "Opel" car. The 31-year-old driver, resident of Noratus village, Gegharunik region, presented 462 pieces of whitefish with a total weight of 182 kilograms from the car. He said that he bought the fish near Chkalovka village from an unknown person.
And on January 29, the operational control center of the Police received an alert regarding the sale of whitefish that whitefish was being sold in the Avan district of the capital.
The officers of the Avan Department of the Community Police left. He found three boxes with fish. 135 whitefish weighed 48 kilograms.
