Spain has been invited to join a US-proposed "Peace Council" but has yet to make a decision. It is consulting with partners and allies on this issue, Pais newspaper reported, citing sources in the prime minister's office.
"The Spanish government has received an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council. However, according to the sources, Spain "has not yet made a decision" whether to accept the invitation or not," the publication's article states.
According to the sources of the newspaper, Madrid is holding consultations with partners and allies, which have also received an invitation.
Trump previously announced the creation of a "Peace Council" on the Gaza issue and invited the leaders of a number of countries, including Russia and Belarus, to join it.
