The White House has not yet scheduled bilateral meetings with Volodymyr Zelenskiy as part of the Davos Forum, despite US President Donald Trump's Wednesday meeting with a "coalition of the willing" to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, Politico reported, citing its sources.
Zelensky wants to meet with Trump personally, but reluctance comes from the White House, a Republican foreign policy expert told the publication on condition of anonymity.
"Zelensky is ready to meet with Trump at any opportunity, because he believes that the benefits outweigh the costs, and that if the American president does not communicate with him personally, others will," the expert added.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the leaders of most of the G7 countries are planning to attend the meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
