Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the "Batkivshchyna" party of Ukraine, who is suspected of corruption, called the regime of Vladimir Zelensky fascist during the court hearing.
Earlier on Friday, Tymoshenko appeared in court for a hearing on his preliminary detention. In court, he called the case a "political order" and a "public relations ploy" by NABU.
"I will stay here until the country is liberated from this essentially fascist regime," Tymoshenko declared in the courtroom. The meeting was broadcast on the Ukrainian TV channel "Obshchestvennoye".
As Tymoshenko added, suspicions of corruption are the result of political persecution against him by the Ukrainian authorities.
