A state of emergency will be declared in the energy sector in Ukraine. Zelensky

Due to the severe consequences of Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, a decision will be made to declare a state of emergency in the energy sector, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced, reports RBK-Ukraine.

Zelensky emphasized that the consequences of the Russian strikes, as well as the deteriorating weather conditions, are extremely severe. He added that repair crews, power companies, rescue workers and utility workers are working around the clock to restore power and heat.

However, since many problems require an immediate solution, a state of emergency will be declared in the energy sector. In particular, a permanent coordinating headquarters will be established in Kyiv.

Another issue is for the government to maximize cooperation with partners to provide equipment and support for the restoration of the power grid.

"In this situation, the Cabinet of Ministers will ensure maximum deregulation of all processes related to connecting storage energy equipment to the grid. We are also working to significantly increase the volume of electricity imports to Ukraine," added Zelensky.
