Yerevan's participation in the COP 29 summit is not confirmed. Ararat Mirzoyan

Armenia has not yet decided whether it will participate in COP29 or not. This was stated by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan today, on October 31, during the discussion of the MFA 2025 budget in the National Assembly.
"The number one priority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the provision of peace around Armenia and the regulation of relations with Azerbaijan and the signing of a peace treaty.

In the context of COP29 and beyond, we are pursuing the release of prisoners and others. It is one of our number one priorities. Our participation in COP29 is not yet confirmed, we have received the invitation, but we have not shown any official reaction, attitude on this issue, of course we do not rule it out, but we also need to understand what it is about," said Mirzoyan.

Turning to the question whether there is no need to participate in that event and return the prisoners instead, Mirzoyan answered: "That COP is held in Baku only because Armenia supported their candidacy.
I don't want to call it a general deal, but 32 prisoners and detained persons were released within the framework of the conversation," the Foreign Minister emphasized.
