FT. Most Greenlanders surveyed do not want to be US citizens

The vast majority of Greenlanders do not want to become US citizens, reports the Financial Times (FT), referring to a survey conducted by Verian.

According to the survey, 85% of Greenlanders do not want to become Americans, because they think that the standard of living in Denmark is much higher. In particular, Greenlanders are concerned about crimes and expensive healthcare in the United States.

The authors of the FT article also suggested that the US could offer 57,000 Greenlanders an American passport and $1 million each if they voluntarily agreed to join the United States.

Moreover, the publication believes that billionaire Elon Musk can give every Greenlander a Tesla.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that Greenland should join the United States.
