Russia and Iran are expanding military relations

The military relations between Moscow and Tehran are expanding, but the details are not published. This was announced by Iran's ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, in an interview with TASS at the end of the year.
"Military and security relations are also expanding. it is not appropriate to discuss the details of such cooperation here," said the diplomat.

On December 17, 2025, at a press conference held after talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that Moscow and Tehran are developing military-technical cooperation in full compliance with international law, without in any way violating universal international rules.

On January 17, 2025, after negotiations held in the Kremlin, the Presidents of Russia and Iran, Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian, signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.
