Denmark is trying to convince the US that it does not want to sell Greenland

Denmark and Greenland are trying to convince US lawmakers that Greenland does not want to buy the United States, and Denmark is not interested in such a deal, Politico reported, citing an EU diplomat.

Earlier, the Associated Press reported that US President Donald Trump's advisers held a meeting at the White House with representatives of Denmark and Greenland amid the US leader's announcement of possible control over the autonomous territory of the kingdom.

Also on Thursday, Denmark's ambassador to the United States, Jesper Møller Sørensen, announced on the X social network that he and Greenland's head of mission in Washington, D.C., Jacob Ibosetsen, met with Congressman Jason Crowe to discuss Arctic security issues.

During the negotiations, the representatives of the kingdom confirmed Denmark's loyalty to the alliance with NATO.
