The Iranian ambassador stated that the West should not interfere in the politics of the Caspian Sea countries

Western countries should not try to interfere in the politics of the Caspian Sea states, which seek to independently solve regional problems, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali stated in an interview with TASS at the end of the year.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized the need to preserve the framework of cooperation between the five countries," he said.

"Tehran's approach, like Moscow's approach, is based on the principle that the security and management of the Caspian Sea resources should be carried out by the Caspian Sea states, without the interference of regional and foreign powers," he noted.

According to Jalali, the five Caspian states are implementing several areas of cooperation to solve this problem. strengthening regional cooperation institutions, such as periodic meetings of foreign ministers and summits of Caspian littoral states, to coordinate actions in the fields of security, environmental protection and economy.
