US President Donald Trump claims that Cuba's economy is completely dependent on Venezuela's financial and energy support. He announced this in an interview with Fox News.
"Cuba completely relies on Venezuela for money and oil, and in return they provide Venezuela with protection. That's how the deal has always been," the president said.
On January 3, the United States launched Operation Total Resolve, during which Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured in Caracas and taken to New York.
