The number of victims of floods in the autonomous community of Valencia has reached at least 62. This is the deadliest flood that has occurred in Spain in almost 30 years, Reuters reports. There are still people missing, and some people have remained isolated because rescue services cannot reach them.
Due to the floods, trains to Madrid and Barcelona were canceled, and schools were closed in the affected areas.

Scientists say that extreme weather events are becoming more and more frequent due to climate change. Meteorologists believe that the warming of the Mediterranean Sea, which increases water evaporation, significantly contributes to the intensity of torrential rains.
