The World Council of Churches will hold a day of prayer for Armenia on November 10


World Council of Churchesinvitesto all people of good will to join the day of prayer dedicated to Armenia, which will take place on November 10, at St. Peter's Cathedral in Geneva, at 17:00 CET.

The general prayer ceremony takes place on the eve of the opening of the COP29 conference, which is being held in Azerbaijan this year. Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, appealed to everyone to join the prayer for the Armenian hostages held in Azerbaijan.
"We are convinced that such a global prayer held by the World Council of Churches will encourage the participation of Christian communities, diplomatic missions, media representatives and all relevant international organizations," said the Catholicos of All Armenians.

We sincerely hope that this spiritual effort will raise global awareness of this ongoing humanitarian crisis and contribute to a peaceful solution based on truth and justice."

Responding to this appeal of the Catholicos of All Armenians, the World Council of Churches invites all people of good will to join the Day of Prayer for Armenia on November 10 for peace, support for refugees and the release of hostages of war.

November 10 is not a randomly chosen day. the next day COP29, the UN climate change negotiations, will start in Baku.

The COP29 summit is a unique opportunity to support the unconditional release of 23 Armenian hostages illegally held in Azerbaijan, as well as Azerbaijani political prisoners and journalists. The World Council of Churches will hold a general prayer dedicated to Armenia in cooperation with the Armenian community," the message said.
