According to SWIFT, the euro's share of global payments has fallen sharply from 39% to a decade low of 21%. The US dollar is reported to remain the dominant global currency.

The dollar now accounts for 49% of international payments, a 12-year high. However, the use of the yuan has increased from about 2% last year and is now around 5%.
