The results of the BRICS summit in Kazan showed that the West's attempts to isolate Russia in the international arena were a fiasco, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"Attempts to isolate Russia in the international arena are also a complete fiasco. the world majority countries do not follow the example of the West, the results of the BRICS summit held in Kazan under the presidency of Russia are proof of that," he said at the opening of the eighth world congress of Russian compatriots living abroad.
"The collective West, led by the United States, has literally redoubled its efforts to systematically contain Russia and unleashed a large-scale hybrid aggression against our country, aiming, as they say, to deliver a strategic defeat," he emphasized.
All attempts are doomed to failure, Lavrov said.
