French President Emmanuel Macron is right when he says that Europe should resume dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. British political scientist Mark Galeotti wrote about this in an article for The Spectator.
According to Galeotti, there is a "quietly growing consensus" in Europe that ignoring the Russian president "simply doesn't work."
He noted that Putin would not take individual European countries seriously, so the EU could capture his attention by working together and promoting a "comprehensive European perspective" that reflects the "continental consensus".
