Putin is ready to talk with Macron. Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to hold a dialogue with French President Emmanuel Macron.

As RIA Novosti reports, this was announced by his press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

"He [Emmanuel Macron] said that he is ready to talk with Putin. It is probably very important to remember what the president said live. He also expressed his willingness to hold a dialogue with Macron. Therefore, if there is a mutual political will, it can only be assessed positively," said Peskov.

On December 19, the French president announced that it would be useful for European governments to resume dialogue with Vladimir Putin. He added that EU countries should find a way to do this in the coming weeks. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov did not rule out that, if Paris wants, negotiations between the presidents of Russia and France could take place.
