The United States launched a military operation called "Hawk Strike" in Syria after the killing of American servicemen and their translator, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegsett wrote about this on the X social network, adding that the ongoing operation does not mean the beginning of a war.
"This is not the beginning of a war, this is a declaration of revenge. The United States under the leadership of President Donald Trump will never waver or back down in the defense of our people.
This strike is a response to the killing of American servicemen and a translator," he wrote. The start of the operation was also confirmed by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces. According to the report, fighter jets, attack helicopters and artillery are used during the operation.
Currently, it is known that strikes have been carried out in a number of regions of Central Syria against dozens of suspected targets of the "Islamic State" terrorist group.
