British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has created a TikTok account, defying the app's ban on the use of phones by ministers, civil servants and members of parliament. Gazeta.Ru correspondent confirmed the existence of the account.

The politician's verified TikTok page appeared on Monday morning, December 8. The first video released shows Starmer and his wife Victoria lighting the Downing Street Christmas tree.

As of 16:30 Moscow time, the account already had more than 1,500 followers. In the comments, users ask how long it will take to close the comments.

Some users called on the Prime Minister to resign. The negative comments received a large number of "likes".
