RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan writes: Road map of the renovation of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church after the removal of Kutrich Nersisyan.
1. Election of the Catholicos vicar, according to the logic of the mechanisms operating in the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
2. Adoption of the Canon of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church. The regulation should address:
a) the rules of conduct of the clergy of the Holy Apostolic Church of Armenia and the guarantees of their provision,
b) The financial transparency of the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church and the guarantees of its provision,
c) The necessity of the non-political nature of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and the guarantees of its provision,
d) Compliance of the activities of the Holy Apostolic Church of Armenia with RA Tax legislation and the guarantees of its provision.
RA legislation, in turn, will provide guarantees that the taxes and duties generated by the activities of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and paid to the state budget will be fully returned to the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
e) the social guarantees of clerics and the guarantees of their provision so that clerics get the opportunity to fully benefit from the accumulated pension system, income tax refund, social credits, universal health insurance (currently, clerics mostly do not use these systems, due to the lack of a recorded remuneration system).
3. Elections of the Catholicos of All Armenians according to the new Statute.
