A number of circumstances of the case of robbery against a foreigner in Yerevan city, including the identity of the person who allegedly committed the crime, have been revealed by the investigation and administrative actions carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated by the investigative department of the Arabkir administrative district of the investigative department of the city of Yerevan of the investigative committee of the RA investigative committee.
The Russian citizen reported that on October 17, 2024, around 9:50 p.m., near the staircase of the Cascade complex in Yerevan, an unknown person threatened him with a weapon-like object and demanded a mobile phone and money from him. response, under the influence of fear, succumbing to the threats, he gave his iPhone 13 model mobile phone and cash, after which the unknown person ran away.
Regarding the incident, according to Article 252, Part 2, Clause 5 of the RA Criminal Code, a criminal proceeding was initiated, within the framework of which the citizen of the Russian Federation was recognized as a victim and questioned about the circumstances of the incident.
During the preliminary investigation, an inspection of the scene of the incident was carried out, during which the victim pointed to the exact place where the incident took place. As a result of the operational and investigative measures taken, the identity of the person who committed the alleged crime was revealed, who is a 25-year-old resident of Armavir city.
During the preliminary investigation, the video recordings of the video recording devices in the surrounding areas of the scene of the incident were confiscated, which were examined with the victim's participation. A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against the 25-year-old man under Article 252, Part 2, Clause 5 of the RA Criminal Code.
A decision was made to arrest the latter, the implementation of which was assigned to the relevant department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs Police. The investigation is ongoing.
