"Fact" daily writes:
"Haik was a very lively child, intelligent, friendly and hospitable, respectful of his parents and elders. He was endowed with the most important qualities," said Mrs. Anahit, Hayk's mother, in a conversation with "Pasti".
Hayk was born in the village of Vardanashen, Armavir marz. He studied at the school named after Mayis Minasyan. Along with school, he attended sports and achieved success. "He was an outstanding child. He was smart, he was the first to learn poems and songs at events, and that too without reading. But he didn't study the lessons."
After graduating from school, Hayk helped the family in agricultural work. "He had many dreams and goals, which would become reality after he was discharged from the army. All goals remained incomplete. He would study, work, buy a house in the city, he had many dreams. He was involved in everything, he was very hardworking. When he finished school, he would gather with his friends and go to work. Children his age thought differently, but he worked even though he didn't need to.'
Hayk was drafted into the military service on January 14, 2020. He served in the Ijevan military unit. "He really wanted to go to the army. The notices of his friends had already been issued, his was late. Every day he said that I should go and see why they don't give it. He went to the service very happy. He also served in the same way. He was very respected, I went to him several times, I saw it with my own eyes. He served very well, he was satisfied with the service, friends and commanders. The last time I saw him was on September 20. We went to him as a family. They should have raised themselves to "polygons", he said. "Darling mom, come on, we're going to the polygons, if you come later, we won't meet." We decided and went to his place. On September 20, they organized a concert in their military unit, they did not allow them to go inside. But one of their commanders called Hayk, gave him the key to his room, said: "You will take your parents to my room, you will meet." That was our last meeting."
On September 27, the 44-day war begins. "On October 12, they left Ijevan. They set off and went to Artsakh. They were in different hotspots: Yehnikni, Jrakan and other places. The last point was "Martuni 2". November 6 is his birthday. He celebrated it with his friends and died on November 8. Hayk was also very strong during the war. The boys tell us: we were sleeping at night, Hayk stayed awake, digging ditches.
Hayk was immortalized on November 8 in "Martuni 2". During the war, he talked to his family members every day. "He behaved in such a way that I did not feel anything. On the morning of November 8, he called his father. At five o'clock the incident happened already. We learned about the bot on November 9. On November 10, he was already in Etchmiadzin morgue, the next day we brought him home. We saw Hayk, we said goodbye, it was our same lovely Hayk. Parents wished to see their children in those days."
Vardanashen village had five victims in this war. "One of the boys is in Erablur. The three boys were from the same class, one boy was older.
Hayk is the youngest brother of three sisters. "2020 has stopped for me, everything seems like a dream. I always think that my Hayk is alive. Everything that happened is crazy. My daughters give me strength. Now I live with my grandchildren. We named my grandson Hayk, born on November 17.
H. G. - Hayk Khachatryan was posthumously awarded the "Combat Service" medal. He was also awarded by NGOs. Hayk was also awarded with "Superior of the Armenian Army" and "Brave Warrior" badges. He is buried in the Vardanashen pantheon.
