Ukraine's government has agreed to a peace deal brokered by the Trump administration to end Russia's nearly four-year war, a US official told CBS News.
The Secretary of National Security of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, confirmed that there is a general agreement on the main conditions, the details are still being discussed. He expressed hope that Zelensky will visit Washington at the end of November to finally sign the contract.
US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll negotiated with Russian officials for hours in Abu Dhabi. The American side is "very optimistic" and is waiting for Moscow's answer.
Russia has not yet responded. Lavrov only said that Moscow "appreciates the US initiative", but will not publish information until the official agreement.
