The US Democratic Party is looking for a leader to run for president in 2028. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is running for the position, according to Fox News.
The 36-year-old lawmaker from New York is the youngest woman elected to the US Congress. Ocasio-Cortez was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 at the age of 29. He is considered a member of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party.
Other possible candidates for the 2028 presidential election include California Governor Gavin Newsom and former Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost the 2024 presidential race to Republican Donald Trump.
