New restrictions may apply to immigrants in Russia

The Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia (LDK) presented in the State Duma a bill prohibiting the sale of pneumatic and electric shock weapons to immigrants, Gazeta.Ru reports, referring to the party's press service.

"We cannot allow these already sad statistics to continue to grow. (...) This is a consistent step aimed at strengthening national security and protecting Russian citizens from the illegality of migrants," said Leonid Slutsky, leader of the LDK.

LDK proposed to prohibit migrants from buying pneumatic, electric shock weapons, gas and other sprays without a license, as this possibility is preserved according to the current legislation. Russian citizens can only buy these products if they are at least 18 years old.
