Deputy Prime Minister of Italy, leader of the "League" party Matteo Salvini hopes that with the development of a plan for peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, it will no longer be necessary to send armed aid to Kiev.
On Thursday, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced that he signed the 12th new package of military aid to Ukraine together with the Ministers of Defense and Economy. The contents of the upcoming batch will remain confidential. According to Italian media, the package will include components and ammunition for SAMP-T air defense systems.
"I think there will be no need to talk about new weapons because the conflict will be over," Salvini told Radio24 when asked about the continuation of military supplies next year.
The deputy prime minister emphasized that the decision on the peace plan should be made by the Kiev regime, not by the European authorities.
"Let's leave this decision to Ukraine, not to Brussels," said the politician.
