German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's government is deeply concerned about the new US plan to settle Ukraine and is already working on diplomatic countermeasures, Bild newspaper reported, citing its own cabinet sources.
According to him, the German government is "mobilizing European partners" to convince Kiev not to give in to the pressure of the United States.
Moreover, Berlin plans to influence Washington by pushing the EU's position on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, German authorities acknowledge that the Ukrainian side is currently weakened, both militarily and politically.
