Israel requested the International Criminal Court to cancel Netanyahu's arrest warrant

Israel has asked the International Criminal Court (ICC) to remove Prosecutor Karim Khan from the proceedings related to Israel and cancel the arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, the press service of the Israeli Foreign Ministry reports.

"Israel has petitioned the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court to disqualify Prosecutor Karim Khan from participating in trials involving Israel."
"Furthermore, Israel is asking the court to cancel the warrantless arrest warrants issued by the prosecutor against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant," the statement said.

The Foreign Ministry added that the motion "in no way affects Israel's other statements regarding the invalidity of the arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Galant, including the lack of jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court."
