At least three powerful explosions took place in the western Mezza district of Damascus, reports "Shafaq News", referring to the sources of law enforcement agencies.
The city was shelled by unknown militants. A guided missile hit a three-story building in a neighborhood near the Abdel Rahman Mosque, killing one woman and injuring several others. The number of victims is being determined.
From Mezza-86 district, where fire trucks and rescue teams have arrived, columns of dense smoke are rising into the sky. Ambulances take victims to hospitals.
The police cordoned off the areas where the explosions were reported and an investigation is underway.
