NATO is looking for an affordable solution to combat drones

The North Atlantic alliance is looking for cheaper air defense options after the use of fighter jets to intercept drones, NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska said in an interview with the Finnish TV station Yle.

According to a NATO spokesperson, NATO countries are seeking to introduce technologies that will "reduce the cost of developing anti-drone systems." Shekerinskaya noted that the members of the alliance "want to find new ways to avoid the invasion of the airspace".

According to the deputy secretary-general, the countries of the bloc are also exchanging technologies for combating drones and testing "new, more technologically advanced solutions" in this field. As Shekerinskaya noted, these developments are already being used within NATO's "Eastern Guard" operation.
