The Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISTP SB RAS) reported that strong geomagnetic storms are expected on the night of November 12 or in the morning of November 12.
.
The peak of G3-G4 disturbances ("strong" to "very strong") will reach Earth on the night or early morning of November 12. G5 hurricanes are not considered and are only possible under exceptional circumstances.
In 2025, G4 hurricanes have already been observed twice: on January 1 and June 1. The intensity of magnetic storms is assessed on the G1-G5 scale (from weak to extreme), reports TASS.
