The EU plans to discuss Ukraine's membership in the bloc at a summit to be held in Lviv in December, Politico reports, referring to the letter obtained by it.
According to the publication, Brussels is preparing a new program to promote the EU membership applications of Ukraine and Moldova.
It envisages that Ukraine and Moldova will start working on the practical reforms necessary for membership without waiting for formal EU approval, ie bypassing Hungary's veto.
The EU hopes to override Hungary's veto if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's party loses parliamentary elections in April.
"The program will end on December 10... The Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU has invited European affairs ministers to a new informal summit in Lviv, western Ukraine, to discuss the issue of enlargement," writes Politico.
