Lukashenko stated that Belarus should develop and have its own weapons

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, believes that the republic should develop and have its own weapons.

According to the head of state, as quoted by the BelTA news agency, the republic has tactical nuclear weapons thanks to good relations with Russia, and the "Oreshnik" system will enter combat duty in December. However, the head of the country is convinced that it is not possible to rely only on this weapon.

"Yes, it is true that the Russians have helped, are helping and will continue to help, taking into account our policy towards Russia. But we must have our own basic weapons.

I emphasize again. rockets are good. But people will fight. And we have to create the weapon that people need. Drones will not be as effective here as in the steppes and so on. We have forested areas, and it is not so easy to fight with drones," explained the President of Belarus.
