The State Duma calls for a strong condemnation of the increase of the US military presence near Venezuela under the pretext of the fight against narcotics, according to the draft of the State Duma's speech.
On Monday, the Committee on International Relations of the State Duma submitted to the parliaments of the UN member states a draft application on the escalation of tensions near the borders of Venezuela, the chairman of the committee, Leonid Slutsky, announced earlier.
"The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation appeals to the parliaments of the member states of the United Nations Organization, international parliamentary organizations and calls on the world community to strongly condemn the increase of the US military presence in the southern Caribbean Sea, near the territorial waters of Venezuela, under the pretext of the fight against narcotics," the draft statement reads.
