The Iranian embassy in Mexico has denied the information that the Iranian intelligence services are allegedly planning an assassination attempt against the Israeli ambassador in the country, describing them as lies.
"Allegations of an alleged Iranian assassination attempt against the ambassador of the Israeli regime in Mexico are a media fabrication, a big lie, aimed at damaging the friendly and historic relations between our countries, Mexico and Iran. We categorically reject such statements", the diplomatic mission stated in X.
The diplomatic mission stressed that Iran and Mexico "have overlapping interests" and that "Mexico's security and prestige are also Iran's security and prestige."
"We will never betray the trust that the Mexican government has shown to us," added the diplomatic mission.
