Today, on November 6, around 4:00 p.m., the health condition of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, who was in the "Kentron" penitentiary in Yerevan, deteriorated sharply. Vardan Ghukasyan's lawyer, Zaruhi Postanjyan, reports this.
"The staff of the penitentiary immediately called for emergency medical help, and Vardan Ghukasyan was transferred to the "St. Grigor Lusavorich" medical center.
According to preliminary data, at the moment Vardan Ghukasyan is in the "St. Grigor Lusavorich" hospital. The details of his health condition are being verified.
Vardan Ghukasyan was in the detention center for 18 days, before that the body conducting the proceedings and the court were informed about his health problems, but still a decision was made regarding his detention.
Additional information about Vardan Ghukasyan's health condition and further actions will be provided as necessary," the lawyer noted.
To remind, the head of Gyumri community Vardan Ghukasyan was detained for two months. Earlier, the Anti-corruption Committee reported that they had received factual data, according to which the head of the Gyumri community and the chief architect, with a preliminary agreement, demanded and received bribes.
