US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he intends to visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan next year. "I personally intend to visit all five countries next year.
I know it's going to be a week-long trip or longer," he said at a State Department reception attended by heads of foreign policy agencies from five countries.
The US Secretary of State noted that American businesses are interested in expanding access to the markets of the above-mentioned Central Asian countries.
Rubio expressed regret that the American authorities did not pay enough attention to the region during the last 10 years.
