The new Czech government will cut military aid to Ukraine and focus on "diplomatic efforts" to end the conflict, according to Filip Turek, a former member of the European Parliament (CoE) from the "Patriots" faction, who is in the running for the post of Czech foreign minister, according to media reports.
"The country's new government will give priority to diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war in Ukraine and reducing the risks of conflicts in Europe," he said in an interview with the European publication Politico, "rejecting military aid financed from the state budget, focusing on the security needs of the Czech Republic."
Speaking about relations within the EU, Turek stressed that Brussels should focus on domestic production, not on "ideological agendas". He noted that EU policy "only accelerates the transfer of high-tech European production to China".
