The robbers of the Louvre museum may have acted on the orders of foreigners, Parisien newspaper reported, referring to one of the suspects.
According to the newspaper, two suspects, Abdulai N. and Ayed G., stated during the interrogation that they acted on orders.
"This theory about the hands of a criminal organization was also put forward by his (Abdulaye N.'s) alleged accomplice, Ayed G., who is suspected of breaking into the (Louvre Hall - ed.) Apollo Gallery. He mentioned a potential client abroad without naming him," the article reads.
Abdulai N. also stated that he acted on the orders of unknown persons.
Moreover, one of the men told the investigators that he did not know that he was going to rob the Louvre. He thought that the museum was only on the side of the famous pyramid. The second suggested that he will rob a building that will be empty on Sunday.
