During his visit to Finland on November 4-5, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan intends to announce his country's readiness to mediate diplomatic efforts to reach a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine issue. The source of the Turkish Ministry informed TASS about this.
Fidan will visit Helsinki at the invitation of his Finnish colleague Elina Valtonen.
Speaking at the TRT World Forum in Istanbul last week, Fidan announced that Ankara's diplomatic efforts had enabled several rounds of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, which had led to significant results, such as the exchange of prisoners.
According to him, Turkey remains ready to provide a platform for direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and hopes to hold a meeting of leaders on the issue of Ukraine.
