In October 2025, officers of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia deported 121 foreigners who violated migration laws.
This was reported by the press service of the ministry. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, citizens of Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Philippines, Chad and other countries were deported from Georgia. Their entry into the country was banned.
In October, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced that more than 850 illegal immigrants were deported from the country in the first nine months of 2025, which is an unprecedented number and significantly higher than the figures for 2022, 2023 and 2024 combined. According to the new changes to the migration law that came into force on October 1, if a foreigner stays in Georgia longer than the specified period, a foreigner will be fined. From 1,000 to 3,000 GEL ($369 to over $1,100).
The amount of the fine will depend on the duration of the illegal stay in Georgia. Along with the fine, the illegal migrant will be banned from entering Georgia.
