Former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that the results published by the Central Election Commission of Georgia do not reflect the will of citizens. The leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party stated this at a briefing at the party office.
“It is a fact that can be said unequivocally - Ivanishvili suppressed the will of the citizens of Georgia. And those elections, those results that were published, do not reflect the will of the Georgian people. Unfortunately, this did not happen yesterday and did not happen in one day. We have been talking about this for a long time, discussing it with facts, evidence that we passed on to our partners, including international observers and local international missions,” Gakharia noted.
According to him, intimidation of voters, bribery, manipulation of identity cards, pressure and intimidation of government officials and socially vulnerable people were systemic.
Gakharia says that now is “not the time for hopelessness, now is the time for 24-hour work”:
“We must turn to reasonable forms of protest, which will primarily be aimed at protecting the choice of our citizens, protecting the European future and the institution of elections.”
