After the statement of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's readiness to hold them, Ankara did not receive any signal regarding the resumption of talks on the issue of Ukraine in Istanbul, a Turkish diplomatic source told RIA Novosti.
Fidan announced last week that Ankara is ready to host the fourth round of talks between Moscow and Kiev in Istanbul.
The situation surrounding the Ukraine conflict and Turkey's initiatives to resume negotiations will be one of the topics of the cabinet meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, a source in the Turkish leader's administration told RIA Novosti.
"We did not notice such signals. It is best to address this question directly to the parties," the source of the agency said, answering the question about the presence of certain signals after Fidan's statement.
