The authorities of Georgia have decided that they will no longer participate in the sessions of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly due to the unfair treatment of the republic. Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili wrote about this in X.
As Papuashvili noted, this decision was made because several resolutions were adopted at the last session of Euronest held in Yerevan, in which they talked about the need to hold new parliamentary elections in Georgia, as well as those convicted for riots during rallies in Tbilisi were called "political prisoners".
And the current government of Georgia is called "self-proclaimed".
"It is already clear that the European Parliament has turned the "Euronest" platform into a weapon for blackmailing neighboring countries and forcibly imposing its narrow political agenda. Accordingly, taking into account the hostile and narrow political approach of these forces in the European Parliament, the permanent parliamentary delegation of the Parliament of Georgia will no longer participate in Euronest sessions," Papuashvili wrote.
