The United States hopes to reach a long-term trade agreement with China, US President Donald Trump said.
"The deal with China will be great. It will take a long time," he told reporters on his plane en route from Washington to Palm Beach, Florida. The American leader was going to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida for the weekend.
"I had a very good relationship with President Xi Jinping, as you saw," Trump said, referring to their bilateral meeting held on October 30 in the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in the Republic of Korea.
"I think we will have excellent relations with them for a long time," the US president added.
Trump claimed that the issue of supplying soybeans from the US to China will be resolved soon in the interests of American agriculture.
"I suggest they buy bigger tractors and more land," the president said, referring to American farmers and their exports to China.
