The questions regarding the violation of the vow of celibacy of the Catholicos of All Armenians are grounds for disbanding him, RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan stated this in a conversation with journalists.
"What were the grounds for terminating Aram? Lord Aram clearly presented his views, but they were not heard. There can be no grounds for disbanding him," he said.
He assured that the disorganized priest enjoys great respect among the local believers.
Avanesyan said that he will participate in the liturgy in Hovhannavank on Sunday, because "injustice should not be allowed." He also assured that there is no conflict between the church and the authorities.
The minister assured that he was baptized. "Where does the media get this information that I am not a follower of the Armenian Apostolic Church?" I am baptized. The fact that my husband is evangelical has nothing to do with it. It doesn't bother me. we live in love and harmony," emphasized Avanesyan.
