Switzerland has imposed restrictions on the Nord Stream gas pipeline

As part of the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia, Switzerland imposes a ban on transactions related to the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

In July, EU Foreign Minister Kaya Kalas announced that restrictions will be imposed on the Nord Stream gas pipeline as part of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia.

The EU has imposed a blanket ban on Nord Stream-related transactions, including the supply of goods and services, thus preventing, among other things, "maintenance, operation and any future use of the pipeline".

"Switzerland also imposes a ban on transactions related to Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2, thereby preventing the completion, maintenance or any future use of the pipelines," the Swiss government said in a statement on its website.

However, the report states that regular maintenance will be carried out as an exception to prevent safety and environmental risks.
