After talks with US President Donald Trump in Busan, South Korea, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that he is ready to cooperate with the American leader for the development of both countries.
"I am willing to continue working with President Trump to lay a solid foundation for China-US relations and create a favorable environment for the development of our countries," Xi Jinping said, according to China Central Television.
He also noted that under the joint leadership of the leaders of China and the United States, the relations between the two countries maintain overall stability.
"Our countries have different characteristics. As two of the world's largest economies, disagreements are inevitable and sometimes clashes occur, and that is normal," the Chinese leader said.
He emphasized that "being partners and friends is a lesson of history and a requirement of the times."
