The Prime Minister of Japan and Trump discussed the issue of peace in Ukraine

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and US President Donald Trump discussed the issue of peace in Ukraine during the summit, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara announced at a press conference on Thursday.

Trump and Takaichi met on Tuesday. After the summit, the Prime Minister of Japan announced that the "Middle East and Ukraine" were discussed, without going into details.

"At the Japan-US summit, both leaders agreed on cooperation between the two countries to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. I will refrain from further comments as this is a diplomatic matter," Kihara said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized that for a long-term settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, it is necessary to eliminate its root causes.
