Rubio: The USA has sent rescuers to the countries affected by Hurricane Melissa

The United States has sent rescue teams and humanitarian aid to the Caribbean countries affected by Hurricane Melissa, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced.

"The United States is in close contact with the governments of Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas as they deal with the devastating effects of Hurricane Melissa." Our rescue teams are on their way to the affected areas with vital supplies," Rubio wrote on his X page.

The State Department said in a statement that Rubio, on the instructions of US President Donald Trump, created a special disaster response team through which the US coordinates its efforts with local emergency services to determine the scope of necessary support measures.

The United States is sending food, drinking water and basic necessities along with humanitarian aid.
